MOVEMENT

A - LEFT       D - RIGHT       SPACE - JUMP         E - INTERACT       Q - DIE

INFO

This is the first stage of the game. It is not yet complete, I will decorate the menus and include background art. For now, I want to get some responses to see what can be improved. Thank you for your time.

Here we have a 2d pixel platformer puzzle/memory game. You are an agent with abilities to shift dimensions and spawn clones of yourself. Escape the facility and uncover the hidden lore of Echo Corp (not implemented yet, Lol). There will also be different stages with new features. Music will be added later!

Some ideas to possibly comment on:

Were there any mistakes in the dialogue? Was the audio annoying?

Do you think the game is too small? Are some things hard to see?

Did any animation feel off?

How did the player movement feel? (Too fast, jump too high...)

Were the levels difficult?

Was it confusing to learn the mechanics? Are you still confused?

Do the hat colours make sense to you? Is it clear which dimension is available to switch to?

Does the back and forward button seem intuitive? (should it be the other way around?)

Is the dimension shifting animation good or confusing? (red/blue planes zooming)

Was it worth labelling the switches or shall I leave it (it is a memory game after all)

Any bugs, or something that doesn’t feel right?

Any other general points or improvements?

The concept with two worlds or timelines is brilliant. I really enjoyed that twist. The phantom version of the character is a fantastic feature and adds a lot of depth. I wasn’t quite sure what the coloured blocks were for, but perhaps I’ll figure it out later. As someone who specialises in casual games, I always appreciate having a tutorial built into the gameplay. I found myself wishing for one here. Jumping upwards and sideways was a bit tricky for me, though that might just be down to physiology.

Overall, it’s a solid platformer — well done!

Thanks for your feedback! Yeh, it would be a good idea to add the controls in game, i should do that in the final product. The blocks are just a guide to what the hat colours represent, i added it incase the player forgets what the guide said.
